Cleaning & Preservation

Wondering what to do with your dress after the wedding is over?  Look no further! Cleaning and preservation services are the perfect way to protect your dress for many years to come.

Cleaning

Each gown is carefully inspected  before I start the cleaning process.  I assess all stains/discoloration and determine the best cleaning solution to tackle each one.  Your gown is then professionally cleaned individually and by hand (no harsh machines and chemicals are used, and your gown is never cleaned alongside other gowns to prevent cross contamination).  I use only gentle & non-toxic biodegradable cleaning solutions.

*Cleaning $225 (+$40 for 100% silk dresses)

*Includes up to 5 accessories (does not include shoes)

*Additional fee will apply for heavily soiled/stained dresses, debris removal (thistles, seaweeds, etc), and repairs

Preservation

Once your gown and accessories are clean, I can begin the preservation process.  I choose a box size based on your specific dress (you want it to fit snug so it doesn’t move around, but not so snug that it creates permanent creases).  All preservation boxes are made from archival/acid-free materials.  Preserved gowns are meant to stay in the box and should be stored in a temperature controlled environment, away from high humidity and UV rays.  I recommend storing in a closet or under the bed.  Do not store in the garage, attic, or basement.  Once opened and worn/handled, your gown is no longer considered preserved and should be cleaned again.

*Standard preservation boxes $125
*Museum quality preservation box $200
*Preservation quality muslin garment bag $50
*Separate accessory box $40
*Sales tax will be applied to all boxes
