The Process
So you've found your dress! Congratulations! But, now what?
Request an appointment

Did you know a skilled bridal seamstress can book out just as far as many of your other wedding vendors? Alterations are an important part of your wedding day, so don't wait to book your preferred seamstress. You don't have to wait for your wedding dress to arrive to book with me, so once you make your purchase feel free to send me an appointment request.
1st fitting
Your 1st fitting will take place about 8-10 weeks out from your wedding date (or date of travel if it is a destination wedding). This is the most important fitting, so make sure to bring your wedding shoes, undergarments, and your dress if it’s in your possession. We will take a careful look at your dress and discuss any fit changes that need to be made. This is your opportunity to let me know if there are any specific changes/customizations you would like to request. I’ll pin your dress as needed, and take notes on everything we need to alter.
At the end of the first appointment, we’ll go over all of the alterations, pricing, and my alterations agreement to make sure we’re all on the same page. Before you leave, we’ll book out your 2nd appointment. This 1st fitting will take about 60 minutes

2nd fitting
Your 2nd fitting will take place about 4 weeks before your wedding. You will try on your completed dress, we double check that all your alterations meet your satisfaction, and I will demonstrate how to put up your bustle. I recommend bringing someone to this fitting so I can teach them how to properly bustle your dress. In most cases, the dress is ready to go home with you at the end of the appointment, and you are ready for your big day!
Additional fittings
In some cases, we may decide your dress needs additional tweaks after the 2nd fitting, in which case we will schedule a 3rd/final fitting about 2-3 weeks out from your wedding.
If we are making complex custom changes to your gown, we may end up splitting the work into multiple sessions rather than just the 2 standard fittings. In this scenario, we will likely schedule all our follow-up fittings at the end of our 1st fitting. Typically 3-4 fittings is the max I will need to see you in these cases.
* if the additional alterations pertain to work that was included on your original invoice, you will NOT be charged any additional amount. But if we are doing NEW work to your dress, or if the additional alterations are due to extreme weight loss/gain, changing your heel height, etc, you may be charged for the additional work.
